ABOUT
Hanson & Stefanelli is a design-build studio focused on custom furniture and architectural interiors. We combine the roles of designer, fabricator, and installer to create exceptionally executed environments. Our technical expertise, paired with our vision and experience streamlines the translation of concept to reality, bringing efficiency and value to every step of the process.
We partner with individual clients from the earliest stages of schematic development as well as collaborate with architects, designers, and builders to deliver one-of-a-kind solutions.
While most of our projects are created entirely in our Downtown Los Angeles workshop, our close partnerships with other local trades and craftspeople allow us to work in any type of material and complexity.
Our process values collaboration, openness, and honesty in all aspects. Using responsibly sourced materials, time-honored techniques, and modern manufacturing methods, our work is designed and built for positive and lifelong impact.
TEAM
SCOTT HANSON
Scott Hanson is a multi-faceted designer and craftsman with an eye for detail and an aptitude for organization. With a background in architecture and over a decade of experience in high-end general contracting, he has managed complex residential projects with award winning designers in LA, NYC, San Francisco, and Seattle. He prefers minimalism over excess and finds beauty in simplicity. When not buried in a pile of sawdust, you can find him exploring the coastline in search of the perfect right-hand point break.
NATHAN STEFANELLI
A classically trained woodworker and entrepreneurial community-builder, Nathan Stefanelli is a meticulous fabricator and an expert at interpreting the nuances of a project. Tracing back to his New England roots in a family of builders, he learned all phases of construction and project management hands-on. His passion for design and community brought him to Los Angeles, where he founded LA Woodshop, a woodworking collective and educational space. Nathan is an avid traveler, snowboarder, and ultra-marathoner – good luck catching him sitting still.
